Does parental leave affect fertility and return-to-work? Evidence from a True Natural Experiment
The paper analyzes the causal effects of changes in parental leave provisions on fertility and return-to-work behavior. It exploits a parental leave policy change that allows to estimate its causal effects very precisely. The policy change was implemented on July 1, 1990 in Austria and extended the maximum duration of parental leave from the child’s first to the child’s second birthday.

Employment decisions of European women after childbirth
The paper describes and compares transitions into employment of mothers of newborn children in several European Countries. The analysis is based on individual data from the European Community Household Panel. The main purpose of this paper is to compare how long they take in different countries, which kind of jobs they get and which kind of childcare they use. It lists also which characteristics, of the woman, of the household and of the labour market, make these transitions more likely.
